The map showing A Part of The Shire appears on page 18. The map of The West of Middle-earth at the End of the Third Age and the Map of Gondor, Rohan and Mordor appear spread over integral pages. The maps were redrawn by Stephen Raw in 1994.

Number of impressions uncertain - copy seen was a 2nd Impression.

Printed and bound in Australia, but at least some copies were sold in the UK.

Lacks the printed price on the lower cover seen on copies printed in the UK.

The publication details record that the 1995 HarperCollins one volume paperback edition had been reprinted 18 times before this 2001 edition was published - This appears to tie in with the Special Limited Edition produced in 2001 for the Cannes Film Festival, which used the sheets of the 16th Impression of 1995 paperback edition.
