The description for lot 30, a collection of letters between J.R.R. Tolkien, Colin Smythe, Tolkien’s secretary and Joy Hill, includes brief quotes from two letters from JRRT to Smythe:

1) Dated 10 April 1968, regarding the possibility of supplying a poem, presumably for an anthology, Tolkien mentions that two were included in Winter’s Tales for Children.

2) Dated 4 June 1968, again regarding the possibility of supplying a poem, Tolkien promises something about Westernesse.
