This biography includes several contributions by Tolkien:

1) Remarks about Lewis in Tolkien’s copy of Letters to Malcolm, Chiefly on Prayer. See p.xvii.

2) An extract from a commentary on Lewis and Christianity. See pp.135-6.

3) Another extract from the commentary on Lewis and Christianity. See p.179.

Also includes extracts from letters previously published in The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien.

At least six impressions issued.

Early impressions had 'C.S. LEWIS' blocked in gold foil, whereas for later impressions the name was printed in orange. This happened no later than the 6th Impression.
