Notes
Dated 2007, but published in 2006, this catalogue features artwork by Ted Nasmith and Ruth Lacon along with collectable books and letters.

The catalogue includes two letters from J.R.R. Tolkien:

1 (p.36) - A one page letter to Tim Robinson, dated 29 February 1956. In the extract quoted, Tolkien apologises being unable to attend a meeting of the Oxford University English Club. The complete letter is reproduced in a photograph. (Extracts from the letter were reproduced in Michael Silverman Catalogue 21, see Lot 206)

2 (p.36) - A two page letter to Deirdre Levinson, dated 26 June 1957. In the extracts quoted Tolkien discusses beer and South Africa. The second page of the letter is reproduced in a photograph.

The letters are not included in The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien (1981).
