Part IV - The Ambidexters Sentence - includes seven versions of a Quenya sentence:
'Elves were ambidextrous therefore left had no "sinister" connexions (rather the reverse) since facing West (usual) left pointed away from Morgoth, and facing North to Aman.'
This issue also contains Five Late Quenya Volitive Inscriptions edited by Carl F. Hostetter. (See pp.38-58)
This consists of five Quenya phrases composed (c.1964-69) to be used as inscriptions, two of which are written in tengwar. The phrases and commentary are followed by two Appendices that reproduce notes by Tolkien: Quenya Personal Pronominal Forms (June 1964) and "Quenya Pronominal Elements" (c.1968). |
