Item 114 – The description includes extracts from a two page letter to Naomi Mitchison dated 8 November 1959. Tolkien notes that much of the early part of The Lord of the Rings was written in Sidmouth.

The letter is not included in The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien (1981).
