The article also includes an analysis of the differences and similarities between the 1944 text and those found in Sisam’s Fourteenth Century Verse & Prose (1921) and Tolkien’s Modern English translation published in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Pearl and Sir Orfeo (1975).
