Cassette 1 – The Silmarillion: Of Beren and Lúthien - Christopher Tolkien reads from Chapters 19 and 20 of The Silmarillion.

Cassette 2 – The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring - Extracts read and sung by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Cassette 3 – The Lord of the Rings - Extracts from The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King read and sung by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Cassette 4 – Poems and Songs of Middle Earth - Extracts from The Adventures of Tom Bombadil and The Lord of the Rings read by J.R.R. Tolkien.

This set also includes:

a) A promotional poster for Of Beren and Lúthien featuring Tolkien’s map of Beleriand (coloured by H.E. Riddett).

b) A programme booklet with notes by Christopher Tolkien, George Sayer and W.H. Auden.
